Anna, A small world. I had just finished watching the last episode - A to Z Ice Age floods by Nick Zentner, Geology Professor, Central Washington University, Ellensburg, WA. A Youtube series about the Palouse, Eastern Washington, Channeled Scablands, the Cordilleran Ice Sheet and Lake Missoula, 15,000 to 20,000 years ago. My parents and Grandparents had lived in the Coteau Des Prairies, northeastern South Dakota near the border of North Dakota. Lake Agassi and the Laurentide Ice Sheet have created some similar soil conditions as the Palouse in Southeastern Washington. So here you have moved to Fargo, ND and write about the ancient history of Eastern North and South Dakota. Thank You, My email is ryve@nemont.net Raymond Lien . I would love to compare notes with you, Please write
Raymond — in an even smaller world, I attended college for my first year at Central Washington University in Ellensburg! I look forward to connecting further.
I love this, Anna. The word for Métis that you mention – Otipemsuak, or "Otipemisiwak" as you'll also see – is a Cree word that means "the people who own themselves." That is an impression of my people that I will spend the rest of my life devoted to embodying and I love it. I feel a pull to spend time in the area where you are understandably struggling. If there is anyone I would like to have representing my presence there though, until I can myself, there is none better than you. Migizi will certainly agree.
Good stuff friend, and it takes nearly nothing to have me find another Louis Ehrlich book. They’re always great. Enjoy the sky and good sounds.
Thank you! Agreed, Ehrlich is stunning, every time.
